There has been a lot of talk in the media lately about Motorola and their plans for their upcoming devices. One interesting tidbit that has surfaced is that the Moto G Power 5G, which is positioned as a budget device, actually boasts some impressive internals that contradicts its affordable price point.
With the Moto G Power 5G, Motorola has delivered a reliable mid-tier device that runs on Android 13 right out of the box. This latest addition to the Moto G Power lineup builds upon the success of its 2020 predecessor by offering even more features and capabilities.
Moto G Power 5G Features
The Moto Power 5G packs a punch with its 6.5-inch IPS LCD display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Additionally, it comes equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset, allowing for seamless 5G connectivity. Sporting an octa-core CPU that reaches up to 2.2GHz, the MediaTek Dimensity 930 is an impressive system-on-a-chip (SoC) that is specifically designed to deliver exceptional performance on 5G networks. Additionally, the SoC supports up to two SIMs, including a nano SIM and an eSIM, making it a versatile choice for users who require multiple phone lines.
To ensure that the Moto Power 5G can keep up with the demands of its powerful internals, Motorola has included a large 5,000mAh battery that can last for more than a full day on a single charge. The battery also supports 15W charging, although it’s worth noting that the retail box only includes a 10W brick.
The Moto G Power 5G features an impressive camera setup with a 50MP primary camera on the back, complemented by 2MP macro and depth sensors. It runs on Android 13 with a Moto MyUX interface layered on top, and is available in a single configuration that includes 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable via microSD, and the device even includes a headphone jack for those who prefer wired audio.
The Moto G Power 5G will be available in black and white color options, with the 6GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration priced at $300. Starting April 13, the device will be available for open sales in the US through Motorola.com, Amazon, and Best Buy. Later in the year, it will also be available from Metro by T-Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, and Xfinity Wireless.
