This must be great news for T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant 4G users, who have been waiting patiently till now. Late yesterday, T-Mobile has officially announced that it will start rolling out Android 2.2 Froyo from today. As expected, the roll out will come in waves and it will take a few weeks to reach all the Vibrant users. So do not panic if you haven’t received it on the first day itself. However, the update method to get Froyo wasn’t detailed, whether it would be over-the-air update or desktop software Kies, we don’t know yet.
T-Mobile has explained the reason for holdup Froyo update saying that the delay was a “quality control and timing issue.” Apparently, there’s extra work include integration and customization in addition to exclusive apps like Wi-Fi Calling. So we can expect it to be appear in the Vibrant’s build of Froyo.
T-Mobile has also assured a great news for it’s customers that they will will be updating all Android phones to the new versions of the Android OS, within the 3 to 5 months when after Google has made the new version public.
Anyhow, T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant users must be checking their handsets for the Froyo update by selecting the options – “Home” > “Menu” > “Settings” > “About phone” > “System Updates” > “Install Now”.
