Ahead of its official launch on May 11th, live images of Sony Mobile’s flagship smartphone for the first half of 2023, the Xperia 1 V, have been leaked online.
It seems that the phone will be available in three color options: white, black, and green. Unfortunately, it appears that purple won’t be an option this time around, which is a departure from previous models that offered the color.
The camera setup on the Xperia 1 V appears to match the images of the previously leaked device, with the lenses appearing slightly larger than before.
Furthermore, it appears that the Xperia 1 V, which is set to be Sony Mobile’s flagship for the first half of 2023, will no longer feature a 3D Time of Flight sensor. This information has been gathered from leaked images of the device which also show a slight increase in the size of the camera lenses. Additionally, the side of the device features intricate grooves that match perfectly with unofficial renders of the phone.
The leaked images are said to have been taken of the phone in Hong Kong and are in line with previous leaks of the Xperia 1 V. With its official announcement scheduled for May 11th, fans of Sony Mobile can look forward to getting more detailed information on this much-anticipated device in the coming days.
It’s worth noting that this is the first time that the official name of the device, “Xperia 1 V,” has been confirmed, although it follows the naming convention of previous Xperia models.
The bottom of the poster also mentions “next-generation dual low-noise sensing components,” which could refer to a next-generation double low-noise sensor. The teaser image also indicated that the Xperia 1 V will be equipped with a next-generation sensor, and it seems that noise reduction will be one of its selling points.
It’s not uncommon for posters of unreleased smartphones to be discovered before their official launch, but this is the first time it’s happened with an Xperia device. It’s possible that it’s an intentional teaser by the company.
Either way, this seems to be a pretty large billboard, so it should be visible to anyone. There’s a good chance that more information about the device will surface from other sources in the near future.
