According to the various users reports, the most awaited Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS update is now rolling out for the Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet. In fact, Samsung was planning to push out the update for the Iconia Tab A500 along with the A100 variant on April 27th in the U.S. and Canada.
After upgrading to Android 4.0.3 Ice Cram Sandwich OS update, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 device will work faster and smoother than before. Videos will be HW decoded and the update also brings improvements for Calendar, Google Chat etc. Acer ring and Face Unlock features are not included in the latest update.

The OTA update notifications should pop up on your Acer Iconia Tab A500 device. The OTA update size is 394MB. If the update has yet to hit your device, you may be able to pull the update by hitting up
Settings –> About Tablet –> System Firmware Update and then press the Check for Updates button –> If the update found –> Accept it to download and install –> Follow the instructions and Let it to do its task. After successfully finishes the upgrade process, the build number on your Transformer Prime should be shown as Acer_AV041_A500_1.033.00_PA_CUS1.
