We’ve a sweet news for Acer Iconia Tab A700 owners to celebrate today. According to the users reports, Acer started rolling out the most awaited Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Iconia Tab A700 tablet, without any prior announcement on the update. The new firmware update brings the A20700’s build number up to Acer_AV051_A700_1.028.00_EMEA_DE.
Unfortunately, there’s no change log available for the update as of now. But, the update brings a handful of new features that Tab A700 users have been waiting for some time. Among them are, stability improvements, user interface improvements, fixes and more. Image version also gets upgraded to: ACER_AV051_A700_RV09RC02_EMEA_DE and the new Kernel version will be 3.1.10+. There won’t be any changes in your userdata. Apps and settings will remain same.
So, Acer is making good moves, by upgrading its tablets with the latest and greatest version of Android OS and keeping up to date. Asus has already rolled out the JB updates for its transformer Pad TF300, as well as Asus Transformer Prime tablets in Sweden and the U.S. Are you listening Samsung and Motorola?
If the update hasn’t hit your A700 just yet, as always you can check manually using the regular process, just by hitting up Settings –> About tablet –> System update –> Check now. Full size of the update is 332MB. So, you first connect to a proper Wi-Fi connection and get started downloading the update.
