Amazon has officially introduced the third generation Fire TV Cube, a new product in its flagship series of media players that is controlled entirely by voice. The third gen Fire TV Cube has a new design with a cloth grill covering, faster processing, and improved connectivity.
The Fire TV Cube works like an Echo and it can acts as Alexa device for your home. It has eight far-field microphones and it lets you talk to it directly without needing to have a remote. You can tell it to turn on/off your television or simply tell it to play your favorite content.
The 3rd-gen Fire TV Cube come with an upgraded processor (Octa-core 4x 2.2GHz + 4x 2.0GHz, GPU 800MHz), which claims to be 2x as powerful as the one on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. This updated processor helps speed up video playback performance in apps and also improves app loading times. It has a HDMI port for connecting your cable box and also features Super Resolution Upscaling while retaining 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, HDR, Dolby Atmos audio, and 16GB storage, 2GB RAM, Wi-Fi 6.
Amazon has also introduced the new Alexa Voice Remote Pro, with remote finder, customizable buttons, and backlighting. It is a new premium remote which is compatible with most Fire TV streaming media players, and Smart TVs with Fire TV built-in.
It comes with a built-in speaker which emits an audible ring to help you find it. You just ask Alexa to find your remote, your Remote pro will hear you and ring itself. It also has backlighting that illuminates when operate this remote in the dark rooms. The new two customizable buttons on the Remote Pro help you to assign your own shortcuts to your favorite apps, channels, or Alexa commands.
Both the 3rd-gen Fire TV Cube and Alexa Voice Remote Pro are now available for pre-order, is priced at $140 and $35 respectively.
