[Download] Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update 98.72.8 now hitting Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX

Earlier this month, Verizon served up the Jelly Bean update for its new line Motorola Droid phones including Droid RAZR HD, and Droid RAZR MAXX HD. Now, it’s time for another set of Droid phones to taste some Jellybeans. It looks like, the Big Red network is now rolling out the much awaited Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update as the Christmas present for Motorola Droid RAZR, as well as the Droid RAZR MAXX handsets. The update bumps the software version up to 98.72.8. Verizon hasn’t posted the official support documentation for Jelly Bean update on its website, but most of the users are reporting that they are indeed getting the update.

In addition to the new Android OS version – Jelly Bean, the update also brings Google Now, Project Butter, enhanced notification, speed improvements, improved keyboard, and resizable widgets, YO may also get some special upgraded for the preinstalled Verizon-specific applications.

The update should be hitting the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX handsets now, so head into Settings > About phone > Software updates to see if it’s available on your device. Some users are also reporting that they are failing to install the OTA update. # Grab the update file from the above file and move it to SD card on your handset
# Turn of your phone
# Hold Power button and both Volume Up and Down buttons together until you see boot screen
# Now select “Recovery” using Volume Down/Up buttons
# Press both Volume Up/Down buttons when you see Android robot with exclamation
# Now select “install update from external storage” and select the appropriate file.
# That’s it, wait for some time and enjoy Jelly bean goodies.
