Earlier in September, Darcy Lacouuvee, founder of Android Authority performed a drop test by dropping Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3, a total of four times from an increasing height and concluded that the Apple iPhone 5 is better than Samsung Galaxy S3. Now Darcy is back and he dropped two tablets Apple’s iPad mini and Google’s Nexus 7.
Darcy dropped the two tablets a total of three times from 4.5 feet. After the first drop on to their sides, the iPad mini held up quite well but the Google Nexus 7 started to show significant damage. Again after the second drop on their backs, the Nexus 7 became non-functional completely but iPad mini showed no problem in its function despite of its severe damage. Lastly after the third drop, the iPad mini still worked while the nexus 7 ended up with more scratches and dents. So, we can conclude from that drop test that Apple’s iPad mini is better than Google Nexus 7. It will be more likely to still work even you are going to drop from 4.5 feet high more than a couple of times.
But after all this type of test getting smashed and destroyed for no reason seems completely unnecessary and we would rather advise users to be careful enough not to drop their devices!
You can read the Specs Comparison of there two devices here.
