Apple surprised all of us today with the unveiling of the 4th generation iPad powered by a much more powerful processor. While we were expecting the launch a the smaller version of the iPad 3 at the supposed “iPad mini” launch event, but it was a big surprise move that Apple has launched a new iPad 4.
While most of the rumors, leaks, and speculations were focusson on the new iPad mini, there were absolutely zero prior information about the iPad 4. Well Apple must have worked hard to keep this a secret!
The 4th Generation Apple iPad is powered by an A6X dual core processor and a quad-core graphics which offers twice the power of the A5X processor seen in the previous iPad 3. Well the display is the Retina display, 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit Multi-Touch with IPS technology and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 at 264 pixels per inch (ppi).
Coming to the camera, the front is a 1.2MP Facetime HD camera with 720p HD video. the rear iSight camera is a 5MP 1080p HD video camera. It features the new lightning connector as in the new iPhone 5 and a 10Hrs battery backup.
The new iPad will be available in both Wi-Fi only model and with cellular equipped. The Wi-Fi is 5Ghz capable which is twice as fast as the previous iPad.
