The Archos FamilyPad 2 tablet was already announced by the French consumer electronics manufacturer at the CES 2013 event in Las Vegas. You might have already known that the device was already approved by the FCC and GL Benchmark result of the device was listed online as well.
But at the time of official announcement, the manufacturer kept silent regarding the official price tag of it. Today, Archos has confirmed on a Facebook page that the Archos FamilyPad 2 has been released officially and it will be priced at €299 in Europe.
Archos FamilyPad 2 is packed with a 13.3-inch display with 1280x 800 resolution which is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor with quad-core graphics, 1 GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and a microSD slot which can expand the memory. In order to capture image, the tablet sports 2MP camera on both front and rear of the device. The device weighing around 1.3Kg has 337x230x11.6 mm in dimensions and it is running Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system out of the box.
Last month, the manufacturer officially introduced a new series of Android OS based platinum tablets, Archos 80 Platinum, 97 Platinum HD, and 116 Platinum HD.
Though the tablet is announced to be available in Europe very soon there‘s no further info when the Archos FamilyPad 2 will be available in other regions as of now.
