Few days back, Google has unveiled the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS (a major update to Android 3.0) at Google I/O 2011 developer conferebce, and immediately rolled out the Verizon branded Motorola Xoom 3G tablet, and it has also been confirmed as officially that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will ship with the update already loaded. But what about the other tablets, which have currently filled with Android 3.0 Honeycomb?
Asus and Acer is currently having the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets – Asus Eee Pad Transformer and Acer Iconia Tab A500. Late yesterday, Asus Italia and Acer have confirmed that their Eee Pad Transformer and Iconia Tab A500 tablets will be upgrading to Android 3.1 by receiving an over-the-air update in early June. There is no word on when the LG G-Slate will receive Honeycomb 3.1, but LG has recently notified that it would be coming soon.
Android 3.1 brings the support for a variety of USB-connected peripherals and accessories, Expanded Recent Apps list — for improved multitasking and instant visual access to a much larger number of apps, Resizable Home Screen widgets, support for enhanced keyboard, mice and trackpads and also dedicated gaming controllers i.e. PS3 and XBOX 360 controller, a performance boost, several new capabilities for users and developers, app improvements, and more.
