Asus has always been one of the biggest Chromebook makers and coming with some of the best-performing and heavily equipped Chromebooks we’ve ever seen, aiming at consumers looking for cloud gaming and productivity. Asus announced the new Chromebook Vibe CX34 Flip at CES 2023.
The Vibe CX34 Flip is built with a gorgeous display, attractive chassis. It is basically a premium gaming Chromebook for cloud pc gamers. As the name implies, you can flip the display 360 degrees, so you can also use it as a big tablet. The Vibe CX34 Flip has an anti-ghosting keyboard for with dedicated orange accents across the WASD keys, along with RGB backlit keys, and power button and volume rockers on the side. Asus also provides a free Steelseries gaming mouse in the retail box.
When opened, it boats a 14-inch IPS LCD NanoEdge screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA) and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display runs at a refresh rate of 144Hz, and supports up to 400 nits peak brightness touch input, USI stylus input, and 720p webcam with privacy shutter for video calls. Inside, you’ll be greeted with a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 U series processor onboard, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 SSD.
The rest of the specifications are including WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1 x HDMI 2.1, Kensington lock slot, a MicroSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The dual stereo speakers are tuned by Harman Kardon. It also has dual microphones, a 720p webcam, a Titan C security chip, and it weighs 1.8kg

Since the Chromebook Vibe CX34 Flip is being marketed for cloud PC gamers, it comes with support for Amazon Luna and GeForce Now, to let them access over 1,000 games on those services. Asus says it will provide a free three-month subscription to GeForce Now for all the buyers. The Vibe CX34 can output the games on a different screen up to 4K using the HDMI 2.0 port. The entire device draws its power a 63Wh battery, which has support for 45W fast charging, and it can last up to 10 hours on a single charge.
It comes in a “Pearl White” colorway, but there is no word yet on pricing or a release date yet, but we will update when we get additional info.
