Yesterday, Asustek has launched an e-reader Eee Note EA-800 having an 8-inch touch screen with 2 megapixels built-in camera, powered by Linux OS. The Eee Note is made with standard PC parts.
Eee Note equipped with 8 inches monochrome LCD touchscreen with 1024×768 pixels resolution, offering 64 levels of gray and 256 levels of pressure sensitivity, 4GB of internal storage, built-in stylus silo, voice recorder, 3.5mm headphone stereo jack and a 3700mAh battery.
It is also having microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 16GB. It is also having Wi-Fi connectivity and the battery is capable of 13.5 hours of uninterrupted use, while the Eee Reader uses an e-paper screen and it requires only power to change the image.

This low-cost Eee Note EA-800 by Asus will be launching this week in Taiwan with an affordable price tag of $230 (NT$6,999), later it will be reaching Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, Russia in this year and would be destined to China and US in the 1st quarter of 2011.
