A couple of days back, Asus has officially announced that the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS update for the Asus Eee pad Transformer tablet. And today the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OTA update has been officially rolled out to all the Eee Pad Transformer tablets.
After upgrading to the new Android 3.1 update, users of the Eee Pad Transformers will be see the improved performance, and better responsiveness on their tablets. The update also brings a new firmware update for the Transformer dock, along with some bug fixes, resizable widgets, new Movies section in the Android Market, a new power saving mode, improved typing speeds, mouse tracking and USB compatibility, some UI tweaks and overall provides a much more stable experience. The tablet will have the ability to act as a USB host which means you can pair gaming controllers, mice, keyboards with it allowing you to import photos to your tablet directly from your digital camera and take advantage of a number of USB devices, also including the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 controllers.
If you own a Eee Pad Transformer, keep checking for Android 3.1 update notification on your device by heading over to Settings tab –> About Tablet –> on your tablets. Asus has also announced that the Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet will be getting the Android 3.1 update in the month of June. Owners of the Verizon branded Motorola Xoom tablet are already rocking the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS update.
