This Tuesday, Asus announced the new Padfone 2 at its event and confirmed it boots Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. Company hasn’t also detailed about the keyboard dock availability for the 2nd-gen Padfone. We just learnt that an Asus representative reported about the Jelly Bean update roll out plans and the keyboard dock information.
He claims the most awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will be ready sometime in November. But, at its event, the manufacturer noted that the Padfone 2 will start hitting the markets by the end of this year. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on the actual ship date for the device. Asus also said that it is currently working the best keyboard dock possible. But, there was no word from Asus on when we are going to see this. There are some chances that Asus might ditch the keyboard dock for the Padfone 2.
Asus Padfone 2 packs a 4.7″ 720p Super IPS+ LCD screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, a massive 13MP camera, 1080p video capture at 30fps, 720p video capture at 60fps, Adreno 320 GPU, LTE, NFC and a 2,140mAh battery to power everything (in addition to the 5000mAh battery in the Padfone 2 Station itself).
The price listings for the Padfone 2 have already been published for Europe and Asia regions.
