World’s first quad-core processor equipped beast, the Asus Transformer Prime tablet shipped with locked bootloader and the frustration of the users who bough it, was clearly heard by Asus. Earlier, this month Asus has assured a bootloader unlock tool indeed is on the way. In fact, Asus wanted their device to be used as they designed and do not want you putting custom software on it. But, later Asus has decided to give “professional-grade players more freedom and openness” on their quad-core Transformer Prime and you will be able to take full advantage of it. Could it be the same online tool similar to the tool provided by HTC for its devices?
Good news is that Asus has finally tweeted the the bootloader unlock tool should be available for the Asus Transformer Prime in February. So you can also custom software on your Transformer Prime tablet if you wish to do that. But, keep in mind that unlocking the Transformer Prime’s bootloader will void your warranty. As promised earlier, since a couple of weeks ago, Asus has started pushing out the most awaited Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS to its Transformer Prime tablet. The manufacturer has also promised to roll out Android ICS update for the original Asus Transformer from mid-February.
Here is the tweet from Asus:
Asus should be bringing an unlock bootloader tool, but why are they calling it a root tool?
