It’s official, folks. The day is finally here for AT&T branded Samsung Galaxy S III SGH-I747 owners. You are getting Jelly Bean update – Android 4.1.1 right now. The update is now rolling out through Samsung’s Kies software. Yes, users will have to plug the device into their computers and install the upgrade using Kies. Jelly Bean is slowly making its way to more devices. Last month, T-Mobile and Sprint Galaxy S III handsets were treated with Jelly Bean. Baseband version for AT&T Galaxy S III bumps up to I747UCDLK3.
There’s no changelog for the update yet, but the Jelly Bean build brings Google Now, Project Butter, enhanced notifications, improved text input, better Javascript performance, improved accessibility with new gestures, automatically resizable widgets, improved Wi-Fi connectivity, improvements for Camera, Android Beam and more.
Most users have reported that they were able to download the update using Kies. But, it’s not yet clear about the OTA update availability of the Jelly Bean build (weighs 738MB of size) for AT&T Galaxy S III handsets. So, make sure your device is fully charged and download Samsung’s Kies software for either Mac or Windows platforms from here and start upgrading your handsets.
