Barnes & Noble’s Nook HD+ runs on Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS on a completely customized user interface and software suite, packs an impressive 7-inch LCD display with 1440 x 900 pixel resolution, a pixel density of 243 PPI, video playback up to 1080p, powered by a 1.3GHz OMAP 4470 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM to keep things running, 16GB / 32GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, micro USB port, HDMI port, Wi-Fi connectivity, 3.5mm headset jack, battery life up to 10 hours of reading / up to 9 hours of video playback, high speed web browsing, access to newly revamped Nook Store, Nook Cloud storage, preinstalled Nook Scrapbook app, Magazine 2.0 app, and a whole host of the regular services of a Nook tablet.
Nook HD+ has also got a “curated” app store and access to Barnes & Noble’s catalog of more than 3 million books, movie, TV show, newspaper and magazine catalogs, the content ecosystem and there is a support for profiles allowing multiple users to share a single tablet using separate accounts.
