Following its late last week last week in the U.S., Facebook Home is now available internationally for a set of the select Android handsets. According to the reports, Canada and the UK are the first regions seeing the apps’ release. The company has already revealed out the list of the supported Android devices with access to Facebook Home service. The list includes – HTC One, HTC One X, One X+, Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II. Both the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets are yet to be released, which are slated to hit the stores in the coming weeks. HTC First is also compatible with Facebook Home, but it is currently available in the U.S. only (via AT&T).
Facebook has assured it’ll be adding more Android handsets in the near future. Facebook Home runs atop Android and it is also known as Facebook Launcher and it helps to bring your friends and family even closer to you. It will get you Cover Feeds, which are nothing but the status update your Facebook friends. Double tapping on the center of the screen “likes” the status, and if you tap on the comment bubble in the bottom of left corner it lets you comment. It has also got the ability to pop out “Chat Heads” for Facebook Messenger. Chat Heads is a messaging system which pops up your friends profile pictures in little bubbles.
Here’s how to setup Facebook Home on your Android phone:
# Go into your app drawer and tap the new “Home” application
# Now launch the Facebook application, and hit the “Finish setup” button
# Now you will be redirected to “Complete action using” dialog box. Here you will be required to tap the “Home” icon, and then tap “Always” button.
# That’s it. Done.
