With the more Intel Medfiled based smartphone coming to the market later this year (including Motorola RAZR i, ZTE Grand X IN and more), the first Intel Atom processor equipped Lava XOLO X900 handset is now ready to be upgraded with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Lava/XOLO started roll put the ICS update for the handset in India.
Along with the ICS goodies, the update bumps the handset’s software version up to v4.0.4, and the new build number will be V2.190-CRAK-user. You will also get re-sizeable widgets, data usage controls, folders, improved battery life, improved text input & spell checking, as well as the Lock screen actions including pull down notifications and adjust volume while device is locked. The update may also bring the Face Unlock feature that lets you to unlock your device just by looking it.
Lava XOLO X900 users can look for the update by heading into Settings –> About Phone –> System Updates –> if you get the “Software Download” notification on your display –> Accept it and let the upgrading process finishes successfully. If you are yet to receive the notifications, do not worry. XOLO posted the full ICS ROM on its website, which you can download it from the below link. The update file size is 299MB. So, get a proper Wi-Fi connection before you proceed to upgrade your handset.
