Samsung is preparing to release two new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54, which are scheduled to be launched on March 16. Nevertheless, before the official launch, an unboxing video of these devices has been leaked, providing a sneak peek of their packaging, design, and user interface.
The Vietnamese YouTube channel TD Reviews has obtained the Galaxy A34 5G and the Galaxy A54 5G ahead of their official launch, and has released an unboxing and hands-on video of both smartphones. The Galaxy A34 5G is presented in a delightful mint green color, while the Galaxy A54 5G features a glossy white finish. At first glance, both smartphones appear quite similar from the rear, but upon turning on their screens, one can spot noticeable distinctions between them.
It appears that the Galaxy A54 5G shares some resemblance with Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S23, whereas the Galaxy A34 5G adopts a more conventional notch design, which may be perceived as a misstep. The Galaxy A54 still has the horrible chrome ring around the front camera.
Specs wise, the Galaxy A34 5G features a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Galaxy A54 5G sports a Super AMOLED Infinity-O screen with the same 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Galaxy A34 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, while the Galaxy A54 5G comes with an Exynos 1380 processor. The more affordable option of the two is offered with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while the Galaxy A54 5G packs 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Both devices are equipped with a microSD card slot.
According to previous reports, both smartphones are equipped with a triple rear camera setup. The Galaxy A34 5G is expected to feature a 48MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 13MP selfie camera. On the other hand, the Galaxy A54 5G is said to come with a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. Both phones are capable of recording 4K 30fps videos using their rear cameras.
The Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G come with a plastic curved frame, Gorilla Glass protection on the front, and a plastic back. These smartphones are expected to have an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. They feature an under-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging capability. For connectivity, both devices support 5G, GPS, dual-SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 5 (Wi-Fi 6 on Galaxy A54 5G), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
