Recent leaks have indicated that Samsung is set to release two new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G, in the near future. While their European pricing was leaked earlier, the latest information to emerge suggests that the Indian pricing for these devices may be too high for the mid-range segment in India. The reported launch date of March 15 or 16, 2023, is also worth noting as it suggests that Samsung is moving quickly to bring these devices to market.
The prolific tipster Yogesh Brar claims that the Galaxy A34 5G will go for sale in India around the INR 30,000 (roughly translates to $366) mark in India. The Galaxy A54 5G, on the other hand, is expected to be priced as high as INR 40,000 (~ $488), which is a 15% price hike than the previous-gen Galaxy A53 5G (INR 35,000).
If the Galaxy A54 5G, and Galaxy A34 5G are priced as high as INR 40,000 and INR 30,000 respectively, Samsung would be competing with the other mid-range smartphones that are powered by more powerful chips such as the Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and Dimensity 9000, which are known for their superior performance and are often featured in more premium smartphones.
The Galaxy A54 will be powered by the new Exynos 1380 chipset, while the Galaxy A34 will be running on the Dimensity 1080 SoC. While these both are decently powerful chips, they may not be able to match the performance of their more powerful rivals in certain areas, especially when it comes to GPU performance.

Consumers in India are known to be price-sensitive and if these price leaks are accurate, it could pose a challenge for Samsung in India, as the mid-range segment is a highly competitive space with several strong players such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, iQOO, Realme and more. Anyhow, Samsung may also offer promotional pricing or discounts that could make these devices more appealing to Indian consumers.

For camera optics, it will have a 32MP selfie camera, a 50MP OIS primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. The entire device will be fueled by a 5,100mAh battery, which has support for 25W fast charging speeds.
