It is clearly evident that the Korean manufacturer is incapable of controlling the Galaxy S23 information leaks. A recent flurry of leaks and rumors tell us detailed renders, specs, and other useful information about each member of the Galaxy S23 series. Good news is that we think we know what RAM, storage options, color variants for the new phones will come in.
And this time, the leak details the RAM and storage options and comes from a fairly credible source. It looks like Samsung may be done with 128GB versions in 2023, especially for its flagship Galaxy S23 models. According to the prolific tipster, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be offered with 256GB internal storage as their base model. A bunch of Chinese manufacturers have already been offering their smartphone with more features at a lower price.
However, the 128GB model is no longer available for the upcoming flagships. Samsung might have taken this decision to get an edge to compete against Apple and Chinese competitors. Increase in base storage may also imply to a higher starting price. To recall, Samsung Galaxy S22 series was launched last year starting at $883 for the 128GB model. But this year we may see a significant jump in those numbers.
Both the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ started from 8/128 GB, but the tipster says the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 will have 8/256 GB as the base variant. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will have three choices – 12/256 GB, 12/512 GB, and 12 GB/1 TB. It seems Samsung adopted the most RAM (12GB) for its “luxury” Ultra model only.

Samsung used UFS 3.1 solution storage chips in the 2022 flagships, but the upcoming Galaxy S23 series is rumored to switch to UFS 4.0, which has 2x faster read speed and 1.6x faster sequential write speed, and a 46% improvement in power efficiency to increase the battery life of the bigger cells. Samsung has stopped including a microSD connector on its high-end devices, since the Galaxy S21 series.
The same tipster Ahmed Qwaider has also revealed White colored versions of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra won’t be sold this year. Bot the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ will be offered in Phantom Black, Green, Lavender, and Cream. We already knew that the signature version of the Galaxy S23 will be sold in a light gold or rose gold color, while the Galaxy S23+ will go with pink, and the Ultra model’s signature color will be offered in green.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S23 series alongside the latest One UI 5.1 build, and the next generation of the Galaxy Book 3 series of laptops at the Unpacked event in early February.
