Google is currently generating buzz by making several announcements, including the release of Android QPR2 and the March Pixel Drop feature update for Pixel devices. Google’s highly-anticipated smartphone launches are just on the horizon, with speculations that the tech giant will make official announcements at the upcoming I/O event in May. Just a few moments ago, we saw a bunch of leaked CAD renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 8 Pro, which apparently has a redesigned camera bar with new sensor.
According to recent leaks, it seems that the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a will be unveiled a month later in June, much to the delight of eager tech enthusiasts and Pixel fans. Along with this release date, other details have also been uncovered, adding more excitement to the buzz around these upcoming devices.
Leaked retail listings obtained by 9to5Google have revealed that the release of the long-awaited Google Pixel Fold is fast approaching, with a launch date set for mid-June of this year. The listings provide confirmation that the product will indeed be called the “Google Pixel Fold,” as previously speculated. The upcoming foldable phone from Google is expected to compete with other foldable devices like the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 3.
According to the same leaked retail listings, the Pixel 7a is also expected to be released in mid-June, along with a new blue color variant of the Pixel Buds A-Series. If the rumor turns out to be true, this would make for a big month of releases for Google, with three highly anticipated products all launching at once.
Compared to Google’s previous I/O launches in 2022, where the Pixel 6a was released in July after being announced at the annual conference, a mid-June release for the Pixel Fold is ahead of schedule. A June release date would give the Pixel Fold a better chance to compete with other folding smartphones on the market, as the Tensor G2 chipset is already used in last year’s flagships, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
According to the leaked retail listings, the Google Pixel Fold will be available in two color options – “Carbon” and “Porcelain.” “Carbon” is expected to be a black or gray color, while “Porcelain” is expected to be a white color. In addition to the phone itself, Google is also reportedly planning to release official cases for the Fold in colors like “Haze Midtone,” “Porcelain,” and “Sky.”
The leaked retail listings for the Google Pixel Fold suggest that the device will come in a 256GB storage variant, with a 512GB variant available only in the “Carbon” color option.
According to the leaked retail listings, the Pixel 7a will be available in three colors: “Carbon,” “Cotton,” and “Arctic Blue.” While Roland Quandt of WinFuture had mentioned a possible “Jade” color, it doesn’t appear as an option in these listings. However, “Jade” is listed as one of the case colors, along with “Arctic Blue,” “Carbon,” and “Cotton White.” The listings also suggest that the only storage option for the Pixel 7a will be 128GB, which is in line with previous A-series launches.
Google has not yet officially confirmed the release date or provided any details regarding the specifications of the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a, but anticipation is high among tech enthusiasts and industry analysts alike.
