Google’s upcoming Pixel Fold is its foldable-style phone, which folds out into a mini tablet device, and it will be launched in global markets this year as the brand’s first ever folding smartphone. The Google Pixel Fold has been leaking a lot lately, with an official announcement allegedly taking place on in the coming months.

In another series of Pixel Fold features leaks, noted tech website 9to5Google shared more key details for the upcoming foldable phone. According to the source, the Pixel Fold will be heavier than the existed foldable smartphone compared to the 263grams Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, the 250g Microsoft Surface Duo, while the Oppo Find N weighs at 237g. The Pixel Fold from Google could be a major competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the foldable phones’ segment.

The Pixel Fold will come packed with a bigger battery than the Z fold 4. Unfortunately, there is no accurate information on the battery capacity of the Pixel Fold, but the source cites that “the battery size will be closer to, but still well below, 5,000 mAh”. That means we could guess around 4.700 or 4,800mAh battery. To recall, the Galaxy Z Fold4’s had 4,400 mAh and the Oppo Find N2’s was launched with 4,520 mAh battery. With that capacity closer to 5,000mAh batter, the Pixel Fold will have the potential to make it through one day of use.

In the image above, you can observe the alleged Pixel Fold (in red) compared to the size of the unfolded Find N2 (in green) and to the unfolded Galaxy Z Fold4 (in blue). The source also claims that the Pixel Fold’s unfolded display will be in landscape mode, like the Find N2, but not portrait like the Z Fold 4’s.

Based on the roadmap of Google’s launches, the Pixel Fold could be launched during the Google I/O developer conference which generally kicks in May, every year. As per the previous leaks, the Pixel Fold will measure 158.7 x 139.7 x 5.7mm (8.3mm with rear camera bump) in its unfolded state. It is rumored to sport a 7.69 inch main display, while the inner display with a punch-hole camera on the right-hand side will come at 5.79 inches.

The Pixel Fold will be running with Tensor G2 chipset made by google. The chipset will be paired with 12GB of RAM with unknown storage configuration, and it will ship with Android 13 OS out of the box, and it will be offered in silver and black colors.

The Pixel Fold is rumored to cost around $1,799 as a starting price tag. We’ll keep you posted with any further news, info and developments on the first foldable phone from Google.
