The Nexus branded phones from Google are quite popular from the beginning. The latest Nexus is mage by LG, the Nexus 4 anticipated by many was available to the public in November this year. It was already sold out on the first day of sale on November 14.
Nexus 4 became an epic failure in terms of sales during the holiday and shipping season starting. While other mobiles tablets were being sold with attractive offers during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, the Nexus 4 was not even in stock, leave alone a sale. The device finally went up for preorder on November 27, where the pre-order page went down due to alleged heavy traffic. Some of the early birds were able to place a pre-order of the device.
The customers who pre-ordered the device thought that their ordeal will come to an end, but not yet. Yes their Nexus 4 was not shipped and the order status in Google Play didn’t event change since the order placement. Finally On December 27, the order status went to Pending status. Now the device has been reportedly shipped yesterday as per the customer reports.
A lot of questions had raised over the stocking and management of demand over the phone and why didn’t Google or LG pre-planned for any of these? Yes Google had already apologized for the delay, but we need more than that!
