Today at Honor’s “Unleash the Power of Magic” event at MWC, the Chinese manufacturer has announced the global arrival of the Honor Magic Vs. With this announcement, the Magic Vs has become the first foldable phone from Honor to launch outside of China. At the same vent, Honor has also launched the flagship phones – Honor Magic 5 Pro, and Magic 5.
The Honor Magic Vs has a similar design to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but it features a thinner body and no gap between the two halves of the device. Honor did great work in this case. It measures 12.9mm when folded and Honor claims it has a sophisticated super-light gearless hinge carefully crafted with a single-piece casting processing technology without gap offering a creaseless display when unfolded.
It comes with a large 7.9-inch main folding screen with 2272x1984px resolution and 90Hz refresh rate that can close completely flat for added protection and a 6.45-inch cover screen with 120Hz refresh rate and a 2560 x 1080px resolution (21:9 aspect). Both screens have 1920Hz high frequency PWM eye protection, HDR10+.
Honor Magic Vs runs on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, while most of the recent Android phones are running with the current 2023 flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The chipset is paired up with 12GB RAM, 512GB internal storage, and a 5,100 mAh battery with 66W wireless charging speeds, that can charge up to 100% in 46 minutes.
For teh camera optics, it has a 54MP IMX800 main sensor, 50MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Honor has attached the same 16MP camera on both the inside and outside displays. It’s worth mentioning that most of the competing foldable phones don’t have a selfie camera on both displays.
The device naturally boots MagicOS 7.1 based on Android 13. Remaining features are including dual SIM, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, and a USB-C port. It comes equipped with IMAX Enhanced-certified dual stereo speakers with support for DTS:X Ultra and 3 microphones.
The Honor Magic Vs will be sold in Cyan and Black colours, priced at 1599 Euros (US$ 1691 / Rs. 1,39,865 approx.) for the single 12GB + 512GB model. Exact launch date for the global markets will be launched in the coming weeks.
