We’ve all been waiting for HTC to finally release their new Android phone, which in the past was known as the “Proto.” A few days ago, we shared with you a leaked press shot of what appears to allegedly be the upcoming HTC Proto. But according to new leak, we can now officially confirm that it will be called HTC Desire X. The Chinese based ePrice website has released press materials, (including the side to side comparison with HTD One X) and technical specifications of the HTC Desire X handset. The leaked poster claims that the device will be shipped with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and you’ll be presented with a WVGA resolution display measuring 4 inches only.
The rest of the specs are as follows:
# HTC Sense 4.1 UI slapped on top of the Android OS
# Dual-core 1GHz processor. Leaked docs haven’t specified on just which SoC we’re talking about.
# Camera is a 5MP unit with HTC ImageChip , LED flash, F/2.0 aperture and BSI Sensor and it is capable of WVGA video recording
# 768MB RAM
# 4GB onboard storage with memory expansion support up to 32GB via microSD cards
# Dropbox 25GB for 2yrs
# Bluetooth 4.0 with high-quality aptX audio streaming
# Beats Audio integration
# 1650mAh battery, which is rumored to be removable
The device will be shipped in both blue and white colors, unless the renders are just too bad to look black instead of blue. Let’s just hope there’s another Desire something to be launched at IFA at the same time, unless HTC plans to be the laughing stock of this holiday season.
The HTC Desire X is expected to be priced at $360 and will be available to purchase both in blue and white colored editions. The source couldn’t specify the launch date info the device.
