We should accept that this was a pretty fast move from HTC and Verizon. Just a couple of days ago, HTC has announced that it will bring the Gingerbread update for Verizon branded HTC Droid Incredible and Thunderbolt handsets. Verizon Wireless has started pushing out the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update for its HTC Droid Incredible handsets. The latest update will get you the software version 4.06.605.3 for Incredible handset. The Gingerbread update 4.06.605.2 for Droid Incredible was supposed to hit on August, but it was delayed as the update headed back to the lab for more testing to fix a bug.
So, what’s new? Well, besides Gingerbread, you’re going to see a host of improvements including a new Download Manager app. You can find the full list of improvements here at below.

The Gingerbread OTA update should soon be rolled out on any day starting today. So Droid Incredible users have to keep checking for notifications on their handsets. The update is weighing at the size of 87.7 MB.
You can try to pull the update manually by hitting Android settings menu. Droid Incredible users need to select “Menu” > “Settings” > “About Phone” > “Settings” > “System Updates” > and tap the “Check Now” button –> Tap Install –> Installation should start now –> Once it done –> select Restart & Install button –> handset will power off and back on 3 times. That’s it. After the completion of the successful upgrade process, the software version build number should be 4.06.605.3 and the Baseband version 2.15.10.07.07.

Is there ANY way to uninstall this update? It’s been really messing up my phone and it’s getting really annoying and over all, I really don’t like this new update. It’s bothering me a whole lot. If there is any ways to uninstall it, PLEASE let me know.
What exactly is happening with your phone that would want to make you uninstall the update, I am an owner of a Verizon HTC incredible and after the update my phone is actually running certain smoothly after the update(5 second start up thats fast!!)
I agree with Anita, since the update nothing on my Incredible syncs. It is really frustrating! Also now I get double the notifications sound alerts
Agreed, the update is a real piece of junk. Talk doesn’t load at all, Gmail doesn’t update, and half of my games were immediately deleted. I have no idea what to do!
I am having Issues getting the update. I went to the system updates screen, but there is no check new button. Has anyone had this issue, and if so, do you know how to fix it? This is driving me crazy!
I have the Verizon HTC incredible ADR6300. I did not get the update yet. I went what it says on the internet I think not sure. How long does it take to get the new update or do I have to call them. Help
