We’ve got some news for Sprint branded HTC EVO 3D handset. A new firmware update is being rolled out for the HTC EVO 3D handsets. Unfortunately, this is not the Android 4.0 ice Cream Sandwich OS update. It’s just a minor update carrying a couple of tweaks. The update (software version 2.17.651.5) brings the following changes for the HTC EVO 3D handset:
# Updated Peep client (to align with Twitter).
# Battery life improvements.
# Security update.

The update is being rolled out in waves, so don’t panic if the update fails to make its way to your particular handset. If you are anxious, you can pull the update by prompting your HTC EVO 3D handset’s system to check for for an update in the phone settings. To make the phone manually check for updates, go to Settings –> System Updates –> HTC Software Update –> Check Now –> If the Update is available –>And hit OK and Yes buttons when prompted. After finishing the upgrade process successfully, your phone should run software version 2.17.651.5.
