Late yesterday, Sprint has started selling the Android powered WiMAX capable HTC EVO View 4G, which is a WiMAX-enabled HTC Flyer tablet. Along with the HTC EVO 3D’s 1.13.651.7 firmware update, Sprit has started rolling out a new software update for the HTC EVO View 4G. The main highlight of this software update is Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread upgrade. The HTC EVO View 4G tablet is currently running with Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update. The latest update version is being treated with version number 1.22.651.1.
This new upgrade will bring a a few enhancements and couple of big fixes for HTC EVO View 4G tablet. After upgrading to software update version 1.22.651.1, the View 4G will be bumped up from Android 2.3.3 to Android 2.3.4, there will be a Netflix app support for the WiMAX powered View 4G tablet. But, unfortunately, ability to video chat via Google Talk won’t available. The G-Talk video feature will be disabled until the next software update. There will be a fix for ‘Mail has stopped unexpectedly’ pop-up message, as well as the fixes for Google Maps and Google Navigation.
This new software update will be delivered over the air, and owners of the HTC EVO View 4G tablets will receive a notification on their display screens as soon as the software is available or else they can head over to Home –> Settings –> About Tablet –> Software Updates –> HTC Software Update –> After the completion of downloading and installation of the FOTA update, the software version number should be shown as 1.22.651.1. While checking for this software update, you will see a “Data fee warning screen”. Then you just need to tap the “Yes” button.
