U.S. Cellular has today officially announced the launch of HTC Merge on its cellular network. Few days back we have reported that this device would be coming to the U.S. Cellular on May 31st. HTC Merge is indeed coming to US Cellular on May 31st(via Facebook posting), but the units will start to ship starting today and apparently the local store managers were given the nod from the carrier to sell the mobile phone well before its nation-wide availability from May 31st. The phone will cost you just $149.99 with contact and after $100 mail-in rebate. You need to call the local USCC store guys to know if they have got their shipments and if you are lucky, you can get your hands on the device as early as today.
HTC Merge for US Cellular is Android 2.2 Froyo powered CDMA based smartphone with global roaming support. It is having a 3.8-inch WVGA display with tweaked HTC Sense UI, an 800 MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, full QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash capable of 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, micro-SD support up to 32GB, DLNA support, Stereo FM etc.
