A few weeks ago, HTC has started rolling out the Jelly Bean update to its flagship One X handsets in Asian countries. HTC One XL owners can also join the party now. The manufacturer is now rolling out the latest Android OS version to the HTC One XL handset. Of course, the update bumps the handset to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and the software version also bumps up to 3.17.707.1. The updates mentioned are available beginning today for HTC One XLs in Asia only and it is currently hitting the handsets boasting CID (carrier ID – 0_44) associated with Singapore and Taiwan regions.
The full software update weighs in 657.98MB of size and it delivers all the usual Android 4.1.1 goodies including Project Butter, Google Now, advanced notifications, embedded Voice Typing, minor tweaks to the keyboard and a number of other enhancements to the device. You will also get the latest version of HTC’s Sense UI overlay aka Sense 4+ with an enhanced UI with better performance in the camera, power management improvements and improvements in gallery section.
If you have not yet received the Android 4.1.1 update on your HTC One XL handset, you can try to manually ping the update server by hitting up Menu –> Settings –> About device –> Software update. If that doesn’t work, the folks over XDA Developer Forum have already taking advantage of the Android 4.1.1 RUU, which you can grab it from the below link.
