The HTC ChaCha ‘Facebook phone’ was unveiled to the world in February’s MWC 2011 event this year, with a QWERTY keyboard on the front to paired up with the touchscreen display, along with another Facebook phone HTC Salsa announcement. A couple of days ago, we showed you an image of AT&T branded HTC Chacha with AT&T logo on it. Well the AT&T version won’t be called as Chacha. It is headed to AT&T as ‘HTC Status’. According to the source, HTC decided to change the name of its ChaCha handset in the U.S. The source has also confirmed that the HTC Status will be immediately hitting the AT&T markets in the next week. We’ve already reported that an AT&T branded HTC Chacha was recently spotted at FCC with the carrier’s 3G bands.
HTC Status aka Chacha is QWERTY-packing handset that comes with one-button access to their favorite social networking site, and it is having a 2.6 inch landscape oriented display delivering HVGA resolution, paired up a flash equipped 5MP camera back, an additional 0.3MP VGA front-facing camera, a QWERTY keyboard having 40 physical keys on it, USB connector, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity. HTC Status will be running with Android 2.3.3 comes pre-installed on the device, and powered by an 800MHz processor.

There no word yet on how much customers will have to pay for AT&T’s HTC Status phone. BGR says that the HTC’s second Facebook integrated model, the QWERTY-less HTC Salsa, will not be released on AT&T network.
