At its event in New York City, the Taiwan based handset manufacturer has officially unveiled its new HTC Windows Phone 8X handset, powered by Microsoft Windows Phone 8 OS. The handset is also known as HTC Accord.
Specs wise, the HTC Windows Phone 8X is carrying all the mid-to-high range specifications, It’s a 342 pixels per inch Super LCD 2 display, 4.3-inches with 1280×720 pixels of resolution, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with two Krait cores clocked at 1.5GHz, paired up with a full gigabyte of RAM,
Right above the screen on the handset resides an upgraded front-facing 2.1 megapixel camera, which can make 1080p HD video calls. There’s an 8-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, ultra wide f/2.0 aperture (same on Lumia 920) and 28mm, as well as HTC ImageChip technology, which was first introduced with some of its recent Android phones such as HTC One X and One S. the rear facing camera can also shoot 1080HD video and it is also capable of continuous shot mode that takes multiple frames per second. HTC noted that front-facing snapper also utilizes ImageChip technology and an 88-degree wide-angle lens. The phone gets some audio improvements with the help of Beats Audio enhancement under the hood.
As for storage options, there’s 16GB onboard storage, which can be expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot, NFC for beaming data, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB port.

HTC will release the Windows Phone 8X handset in California Blue, Graphite Black, Flame Red and Limelight Yellow colred editions. The handset will start hitting the stores in the beginning of November, over a total of 150 major carriers in 50+ countries. During the handset’s official announcement, there’s no specific mention about the U.S. availability and pricing information yet.
