A few days ago we reported Huawei is also joining the Windows Phone 8 line-up with other manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung, and HTC. Shortly after the live image of the Huawei W1 handset leaked online, a new press shot of the handset has leaked yesterday, In fact, it is called Huawei Ascend W1. Thanks to @evleaks for releasing the press shot of the Huawei Ascend W1 phone, which boots Windows Phone 8 build out of the box.
The leaked press shot is showing off the front and back sides of the Ascend W1 handset with Windows Phone 8 branding on its start button and has also got the same logo on rear side. The image doesn’t come with any unwraps, but does show that the phone indeed mirrors the HTC Windows Phone 8X in terms of its looks, including the cyan color. You can also observe its camera pattern is looking identical to the HTC One X handset’s camera housing
The source hasn’t provided any specific details regarding the phone, but according to a previous leak, the Huawei Ascend W packs a 4-inch 480×800 display, 512MB RAM, 5MP camera on the back side with LED flash to record 720p HD videos, VGA snapper on front side, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4GB storage, microSD card slot and 2000mAh battery for spinning the wheels under the hood.
There is no word yet on pricing or a precise launch date, although it is rumored priced around $310. Since we are seeing the handset’s leaks it gets safer and safer to assume the device is set for imminent launch.
