When LG announced the LG Optimus Vu, Optimus LTE and Optimus LTE Tag handsets as part of the Optimus line-up, we were told that an official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update should arrive very soon. Finally, LG spoke up regarding the Ice Cream Sandwich updates that had been scheduled for these handsets. LG korean has officially announced that it will begin roll out the ICS update for the smartphone trio on June 4.
Alongside the ICS goodies, the upcoming firmware update brings LG’s new custom user interface v3.0. Super-sized LG Optimus Vu device should get some additional features to take advantage of its 4:3 aspect display. The ICS update is also expected to boost the smartphone performance of the devices. Hopefully, LG will consider to roll out the ICS update for the rest of their Android handset, which have been running Android 2.3 Gingerbread build. We’ve already reported about the leaked Android 4.0.4 ICS update for the Verizon branded LG Spectrum handset, hinting that the carrier is gearing up to begin the roll out process in the coming weeks.
