The people who have bought new cameras on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have been facing an issue with third-party apps that causes their autofocus or OIS systems to go wild and vibrate uncontrollably. Users are complaining that the device is shaking violently when opening the camera on some third party apps. After backlash of the users, Apple has also said that they are aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
Apple has begun rolling out the new firmware update iOS 16.0.2 to fix this bug with the camera API and other fixes were also issued with this build. It seems 2nd gen sensor-shift OIS system in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro’s main camera is causing this issue by shaking loudly and grinding noise coming from the camera when open a third party apps like Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram, and users aren’t able to shoot the pictures due to this problem. Other fixes are listed below:
- Display may appear completely black during device setup
- Copy and Paste between apps may cause a permission prompt to appear more than expected
- Voice Over may be unavailable after rebooting
- Fixed an issue where touch input with unresponsive after display replacement on some iPhone X, iPhone XR and iPhone 11
The iOS 16.0.2 update is now rolling out to all supported iPhones (iPhone 8 or later versions). Head into Settings > General > Software Update to downland the update and finish the installation process.
