Well, we get thousands of rumors daily about numerous upcoming phones, their release dates, leaks, inside information etc. Most of these rumors will go and bite the dust without much attention. However it is not the case with iPhone, or with any Apple product for that matter. For the past few days, we have been covering rumors about the fifth generation of iPhone, which according to an analyst might be called as ‘iPhone 4S’, and yesterday we brought you some info about the possible relocation of the camera flash in the next iPhone and another rumor about the lack of NFC in it.
Now another fresh round of rumors have just surfaced online. This time from the British gadget magazine T3.com. According to an article posted on the website, UK based retailer Phones4U is claiming that the iPhone 5 (or iPhone 4S) will hit the markets in the UK and worldwide on November 21, 2011. Until now we were suspecting it to release in September 2011.
Again, as usual take these rumors with a pinch of salt. But the November 21 (falls on Monday) release seems to be highly unlikely. If we look at the release dates of earlier iPhones, we can find some kind of pattern with most of the release dates falling on Friday with the exception of iPhone 4 which was released on Thursday, June 24, 2010. Release dates:
- iPhone (Original): June 29, 2007 – Friday
- iPhone 3G: July 11, 2008 – Friday
- iPhone 3GS: June 19, 2009 – Friday
A Monday release for the next version of a hugely popular mobile phone is almost uncertain. We’re sure this rumored release date will not mollify the already eagerly-waiting iPhone fans. Let’s wait till the WWDC 2011 conference which is bound to happen in another three weeks time, to hear more about the next iPhone release.
