Vivo made headlines with the recent launch of its Vivo Pad 2, a tablet equipped with Dimensity 9000, albeit with specifications below that of flagship devices. Now, reports suggest that Vivo’s sub-brand, iQOO, is gearing up to release its own tablet in the near future, according to the latest leaks and rumors. An official-looking image of the iQOO Pad has surfaced on the web, generating buzz among tech enthusiasts.
As per the leak, iQOO is planning to release its very first tablet, the iQOO Pad, on May 23, alongside the launch of the Neo 8 series in China. While there are currently no official details regarding the iQOO Pad’s specifications, fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation from the company.
Leaked design renders of the iQOO Pad provide a glimpse of both the front and back of the device. Additionally, tech insider @DigitalChatStation, who shared the renders on Weibo, suggests that the iQOO Pad may serve as a shell replacement for the previously launched Vivo Pad2. This could indicate that the iQOO Pad is essentially a rebranded version of the Vivo Pad2 with some minor changes or upgrades.
iQOO Pad Rumored Specifications
The iQOO Pad’s design render shows that it has slightly thick bezels surrounding the screen, with the front camera located on the taller bezel on the right side when held vertically. Though the exact screen size is still unknown, sources suggest that the display could be around 12 inches diagonally tall. The tablet will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, putting it in competition with the OnePlus Pad, which was launched with a Dimensity 9000 SoC in India and China.
It remains to be seen whether the iQOO Pad will feature similar specifications or upgrades in comparison to the Vivo Pad2. Vivo Pad2 boasts a 12.1-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1968×2800 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate.
On the rear side, the tablet features a dual-camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front side, the taller bezel houses a single 8MP lens for taking selfies.
Moreover, as per the revelations made by the Weibo leakster, the upcoming iQOO Pad will sport a sleek all-metal design. The tablet is expected to offer an immersive multimedia experience with its quad-speaker setup. Moving on to the camera setup, the back of the device showcases a small square-shaped module that houses the dual-camera system, accompanied by an LED flash. Furthermore, some Pogo connector pins are visible at the bottom of the device, which could be used to connect a keyboard or other accessories.
The tablet is powered by a 10,000mAh battery that supports 44W wired charging via a USB Type-C 3.2 port. It remains to be seen if the iQOO Pad will feature similar or upgraded specifications, but the launch is expected to take place soon, and more details are likely to emerge in the coming weeks.
The leaker also suggested that the iQOO Pad’s price would fall between CNY 2,000 to CNY 2,500, which roughly translates to Rs 23,600 to Rs 29,500. If launched in India, it could potentially have a slightly higher price point.
