LG has officially took the wraps off its 2nd generation L series phones – LG Optimus L7 II, Optimus L5 II, and Optimus L3 II, prior to MWC trade show. All these phones slot in above the yesteryear’s first gen L-series Optimus phones, which were sold in more than 10 million units globally. Yesterday, we’ve reported about the leaked specs of the trio of these L II phones, and GLBenchmarked scores for the L5 II and L3 II handsets revealed online.
Dual-SIM version of the Optimus L7 II handset packs a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8225 dual-core processor with 768MB RAM. There’s a 4.3-inch IPS display with WCGA resolution of 480×800 pixels, and it will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. The device has also got an 8MP camera on back side with LED flash, an additional front-facing VGA shooter, 4GB of built-in memory, which can be further expanded via microSD card slot for up to 32GB, and a 2,460mAh battery hides beneath the black plate.
Dimensions wise, the single SIM version of the L7 II handset measures 121.5 x 66.6 x 9.7mm, while the dual-SIM version scores in 122.2 x 66.6 x 9.7mm.
The LG Optimus L 5 II will have a 4.0-inch WVGA touchscreen and 1,700mAh battery while the LG Optimus L 3 II will feature a 3.2 inch QVGA IPS display and 1,540mAh battery and L5 II will have Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS running the entire show under the hood. There’s no word on Android OS version of the Optimus L3 II.
The new phones will ship with some unique features from LG – QuickMemo, QuickButton, and Safety Care.
# QuickMemo – It allows you to use your finger to write or draw on the screen, and send it to your friends.
# Quick Button – It allows you to set up a button to start up any feature very quickly
# Safety Care – It lets you to set up three options – Emergency Call Forwarding, Phone Non-Usage Notice’ and My Location Notice.
The new series also adds four new design elements – Seamless Layout, Smart LED Lighting on the home button, Radiant Rear Design and Laser Cut Contour.
LG has also said that the new L Series II line “embodies the beauty of the first L Series but with a more refined touch.” The manufacturer is yet to confirm the launch dates and price information of the Optimus L5 II and Optimus L3 II handsets. The Optimus L7 II will be made available for purchase in Russia this month.
