This is exciting. LG Denmark support website has confirmed about the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the dual-core LG Optimus 2X handset. According to the source, the P990 (Optimus 2X) will be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS "in June-July 2011." Let’s Hope it turns out to be true at the scheduled time duration.
LG Optimus 2X is also known as the T-Mobile G2X in the U.S. and it is the world’s first dual-core smartphone, which is running on NVIDIA’s 1GHz Tegra processor with Android 2.2 Froyo (will be upgradable to Gingerbread) and sporting a 4-inch WVGA display, HD 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 playback and recording capability, HDMI mirroring, 8 Megapixels rear facing & 1.3 Megapixels front facing cameras, 8GB inbuilt storage, a micro-SD slot for adding 32GB more, DLNA support, an accelerometer, a gyro sensor and 1,500mAh battery. It can also display that content on the internal display and to an HDTV via HDMI.
