Recently, we heard that LG will be rolling out Jelly Bean update for the LG Optimus 4X HD handset. Today, we are getting a new information that besides the handset, two LG devices will get the update. The devices are Optimus L7 and L9.
LG Hong Kong posted on Facebook that the Jelly Bean update for the LG Optimus 4X HD (P880), Optimus L7 (P705) and Optimus L9 (P765) will be rolled out in the first quarter of this year, which is within few months.
The LG Optimus 4X HD is the successor of the LG Optimus 2X dual-core phone. The Optimus 4X HD is powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display with 1280 X 720p resolution, 16GB onboard storage and a 2150mAh battery to power everything.
LG Optimus L7 is packed with a 4.3-inch display with cinematic wide viewing capability, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM to keep things running, 3GB of internal storage, microSD card slot support for memory expansion up to 32GB and a1700mAh battery.
Another smartphone LG Optimus L9 features a 1GHz dual-core CPU packed with a 4.7-inch IPS display with an unknown resolution, a gig of RAM, 5MP camera on the back side, a front-facing VGA camera, 2,150mAh SiO+ battery and more.
If you update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the above three smartphones will get new enhancements like regular features such as Google Now, Project Butter, resizable widgets, and some specific features (currently available for Galaxy S III, Note II) including Smart Stay, Pop-up Play and Pause while recording video. Users will also get some pre-installed apps – Play Book and Play Movie (available in some markets), Google+, Google Talk, Block Mode for ignoring phone calls, and Easy Mode and many more.
Another source had reported that the LG Optimus 4X is likely to receive the update by March but the remaining devices will be updated later. We’ll keep you posted.
