U.S. Cellular has just announce the launching details of the entry-level Android phone LG Optimus U handset in United States on December 13th. You guys would’ve already night heard about LG Optimus S for Sprint, LG Optimus T for T-Mobile, LG Vortex for Verizon and LG Optimus M for Metro PCS. And now U.S. Cellular is bringing the same Optimus version of all these handsets with no specification changes for free after an $80 mail-in rebate with two-year contract.
U.S. Cellular’s Optimus U sports the same specifications as those other handsets and it is running on Android 2.2 Froyo OS, 3.2 inch capacitive touch display, virtual Qwerty keyboard with Swype support, 3.2 Megapixels camera with digital zoom, 600 MHz processor, 2GB microSD card inserted and support for up to 32GB memory expansion, 3G/EVDo, GPS, Wi-Fi with built-in hotspot capability to share the 3G experience and it also preloaded with U.S. Cellular’s own voice-guided navigation system.
Refer this post for LG Optimus U full technical specifications(same as LG Optimus S and other Optimus handsets).
Even though the specs might seem low-end, the screen is very responsive and the experience is very highly appreciable and more no.of Optimus handsets sold in larger units up to now.
The Optimus U will be U.S. Cellular’s sixth Android handset after Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung Mesmerize and Acclaim, and HTC Desire, LG Apex.
