After Microsoft announced its Surface RT in October last year, the Redmond Company had already confirmed that they will introduce a Surface Pro tablet for the US and Canada markets and the tablet will be made available for sale on February 9 through all Microsoft retail stores and through online. It was also declared that the tablets will be offered at Best Buy and Staple stores too.
On Friday, February 8, Microsoft will hold a private evening reception for select guests before the event which will be held in Union Square in New York City.
For the first time, the tablet has now popped up at Best Buy Store. The tablet will be available in two models: one is 64GB version and another is 128GB version. They will be priced at $899 and $999 respectively.
Neither versions will include the Type Cover, which can be purchased separately for $129. The cobver is a 5.75 mm thick mechanical keyboard. Surface Pro has an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and runs full Windows 8 Pro. The tablet packs with a 10.6-inch display Clear Type HD (1920 x 1080) and weighs around 2.0 pounds. Microsoft is also offering a $119 Touch Cover pressure-response keyboard. The 128 GB version of the tablet will have 83GB of free storage out of the box but only 23GB of free disk storage will be available on 64 GB version.
