The Moto G series from Motorola has been a popular name in households for several years, with each release being distinguished primarily by its year. The upcoming Moto G 5G 2023 appears to retain many of the same features, as indicated by leaked renders showcasing a simple and uncluttered design.
Motorola recently unveiled the Moto G Power 5G for the US market, and now leaked renders of another upcoming US-exclusive, the Moto G 5G 2023, have surfaced. This device is expected to serve as the successor to the Moto G (2022) and is poised to occupy a place in Motorola’s mid-range category. While the design of the Moto G 5G 2023 appears to be simple and uncomplicated, it promises to offer users improved specifications over its predecessor.
The Moto G 5G 2023 seems to embrace a geometric design aesthetic, with its flat-sided chassis featuring chamfered edges on the rear panel and screen. While it is difficult to tell from the pre-production imagery, the back panel appears to be made of glass, adding to the premium look and feel of the device.
The Moto G 5G 2023 showcases a punch-hole display and a dual-camera setup at the back, with the main 48MP camera being confirmed. An additional module, as well as an LED flash, can be seen on the rear panel. Indeed, the second camera module alongside the 48MP main sensor could be a wide-angle or telephoto lens. While it’s difficult to confirm the exact configuration at this point, it’s likely that Motorola will provide more details as the release date approaches.
In addition to the punch-hole camera on the top of the display, the bottom of the device also houses a speaker cutout, which is a common feature in many smartphones. It is also worth noting that the Moto G 5G 2023 has a thick bezel around the display, which is similar to previous models. Nevertheless, it’s nice to see that Motorola has kept the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a feature that many users still appreciate. The presence of a USB-C port is also a plus, as it allows for faster charging and data transfer speeds.
The Moto G 5G (2023) has been revealed in two color options, including a sleek metallic gray and a darker navy blue. While the majority of the device’s specifications are still unknown, it is expected to remain in the mid-range price bracket, with an estimated cost of around $400.
