The OTA update should be there waiting for you. You will be receiving a notification on your display panel to accept the update. If for some reason, if you want to pull it yourself, you can manually pull it down by going to Menu –> Settings –> About Phone –> System Updates –> Download –> tap Install Now button. Installation should start now –> Handset Reboots Automatically –> Tap the OK button on screen –> Done. The Gingerbread flavor should be ready now to taste on your handset. After finishing the installation of the update, the software version should be shown as 4.05.607.A956.Verizon.en.US. The entire update process should take about 10-15 minutes. Don’t forget to take a full backup of the device, before you proceed to download the update. The size for the software upgrade from the older version to latest version 4.5.607 is 103 MB.

Didn’t work! The update screen tells me there are no updates available for my phone… so they must be releasing to certain areas first? Really annoying since my phone is buggy as anything, so hopefully some of the updates will help.
I have the same problem as Ryan. Droid 2 Global still on 2.2. My coworker got the update for his Droid2 weeks ago and I’ve been waiting. I’ve tried doing the manual update, I’ve tried doing *228 to reprogram the phone, tried leaving the phone off for a half hour, I’ve even done 2 hard resets. Nothing.
I have the same problem as the two above (and I am a different Ryan) . Anyone find a fix for this?
