We were told that the Verizon’s next LTE capable Motorola Droid Bionic handset would be hitting the markets this summer. But we needed an exact release date, and the pricing model of this handset. It looks like we have got the answer from Verizon finally, or sort of. The carrier has taken the wraps off the updated webpage of DROID DOES website, revealing the price of the upcoming Motorola Droid Bionic. According to the price listing, the new Droid Bionic will be priced at $299.99 for a two-year contract. But, we are still missing the release date of the handset.
Some recent reports have suggested that Verizon and Motorola are readying to release the Motorola Droid Bionic sometime in early August, most probably on August 4th. A few hours ago, we’ve reported that Netflix app would support the Motorola droid Bionic handset according to the smartphones support listing of Netflix app support. The above screenshot is also revealing that Droid Bionic is coming with the Webdock support (pictured at the bottom), which helps you to turn the handset into a laptop computer.
In the above screenshot, you can see that Droid Bionic handset has got a new look, which isn’t exactly same that we’ve earlier seen during the CES January 2011 event. We are well aware that the Motorola Droid Bionic is coming with a new revamped design, updated hardware and a new form factor. But we don’t completely believe that the above handset is a real image of the new Droid Bionic. They might have photo shopped it. Anyhow, here we got the price tag, and sign-up page of the Droid Bionic handset on Verizon’s official website, so we are getting closer and closer to release date. Hopefully, Verizon will be releasing it very soon.
Coming to specs, the Droid Bionic comes with Gingerbread on the board, powered by a 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 dual-core processor, 4.3-inch qHD display with 540 X 960 pixel of resolution, 2MP front-facing camera for video calls, 8MP photo snapper on the back side, 1GB DDR2 RAM, webtop dock support, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot for memory expansion support up to 32GB, a powerful battery, and all other regular features.
