The Motorola Droid X may not be the handset that wasn’t listed in the list of the handsets by the manufacturer to be upgraded to Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich in early 2012. But, that doesn’t stop the developers to port the unofficial Android ICS build on Motorola Droid XZ handset. A developer named firstEncounter over the popular Android community, RootzWiki, has outed the unofficial Android 4.0.1 ROM – EncounterICS X for the Motorola Droid X handset.
According to the users reports, and a set of screenshots of the Droid X running this ROM, we can say that the developer has developed this ROM pretty well and the ROM is almost fully working. It’s just so smooth and clean. Awesome job by the developer. The features including radio/data, SMS, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, hardware buttons, sensors, charging, SD card and etc. are working. But, a few features such as camera, voice input, MMS, speaker phone, and various little other things are not working yet. The EncounterICS X ROM is based CyanogenMod 9.
