Motorola RAZR Gets Android 2.3.6 Update (SPU15)

Moto is now rolling out a new software update for the Motorola RAZR handset (that’s the GSM version of the Verizon branded Motorola Droid RAZR) in Europe regions. No, it’s not Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s more than a maintenance update, bringing Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS build with new software version SPU15. The new firmware update Android 2.3.6 (SPU15) is carrying bug fixes, minor enhancements and a few tweaks to the system of the Motorola RAZR handset. Here’s the full changelog of the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread update SPU15 for the RAZR handset:

# Addition of the More smart Actions – Auto Text, VIP Caller Mode, Calendar updates, sound effects.
# Tweaks to improve the camera performance.
# Increased battery life.
# Better syncing options.
# Addition of the Google security patch.
# A revised Settings menu for easier navigating.

Along with  the above changes, you will also see a new lock screen layout, new icons for SMS and MMS. FYI, the VIP Caller Mode that lets you to set specific rules for handling individual contacts.
